Committee Responsibilities
Regulatory Oversight Committee Goal: Monitor and comment on governmental policy changes Commitment: Meets 3rd Wednesday of the month at lunch. Additional meeting times depends on city/county staff schedules. Chair: Robert Hulbert, PE, MBA | QA/QC Manager, Texas
Meet as needed with various municipal and county officials on current issues and upcoming changes
Formulate action plans to address proposed municipal and county rules, procedures, and policy changes
Develop relationships and open communication with key municipal and county decision makers
Work with associations of similar interests
Review COA proposed rule changes affecting Central Texas and ensure that the proposals are best for all parties involved
Report on activities to the board and general membership
Oversee sub-committees and report actions to board and general membership
Inform members of upcoming changes to rules and regulations
Work with cities and counties on rule/regulation language
Symposium Committee Goal: Create a forum uniting the Central Texas civil design/build community for the purpose of improving our industry Commitment: Meets 1st Thursday of the month from September through event date. (*Usually May) Must be available throughout each month to coordinate with speakers for each assigned session and support committee onsite the day of the event. Chair:Tim Weston at MLA Geotechnical

Membership Committee Goal: Increase membership by recruiting contractor, engineer, and associate firms while maintaining existing members in Central Texas Commitment: Meets on an as-needed basis leading up to membership events. Must be available for onsite event hosting and registration. Chair: Frank Castro at The Nitsche Group
Work to create opportunities for existing members to network and continue to find value in the association
Identify a number for new member growth to create an annual benchmark
Report on membership changes and trends to the ACEA Board
Assist with greeting/registration at the various events
Provide membership presence at the golf tournaments to engage members and welcome non-members
Assist in member recruitment by following up with non-member guests at events
Community Involvement Committee Goal: Foster ACEA’s profile and membership and develop a forum for members to contribute to the community Commitment: Meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month over lunch. Participate on projects such as Construction Expo, COOL Experience, and volunteer work days with local charity groups. Chair: Scott Swiderski, P.E. at Gray Engineering Inc.
Plan and implement special events supporting ACEA’s goals to include public involvement
Oversee the ACEA Scholarship program

Golf Committee Goal: Plan four golf tournaments a year Commitment: Meets on an as-needed basis to plan each tournament. Participate on-site at tournaments by placing sponsor signs, registration, etc. Committee members are allowed to play once the tournament is underway. Organize logistics of events (facilities, menus, etc.)
Market the events and promote as networking opportunities to membership

Fish Fry Committee Goal: Plan and implement annual fish fry fundraiser Commitment: Meets monthly over lunch starting in July to plan Fish Fry. (Usually in October) Help solicit auction items, transport items to the event location, and provide support on-site the day of the event. Chair:Darrell Seeds at DK Property Group, LLC
Solicit donation items for auction, cash donations, general operations
Arrange logistics of event (beverages, facility, etc.)
Market the event to membership and promote as networking opportunity for membership
