This session recording will be available on-demand starting June 1st. Similar to the Land Development Code (LDC) within the City of Austin, it has been many, many years since the Transportation Criteria Manuals (TCM) was last updated. The Austin Transportation Department (ATD) needed to update the TCM to reflect the goals and objectives of the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP) that was adopted by City Council in April 2019 and amended in May 2021. In addition, the TCM needed to be revised to be more prescriptive and user-friendly in providing guidance as to how to fulfill the requirements of the LDC. The presentation will discuss how the new TCM is organized, highlight some of the changes contained within the TCM, and indicate ATD’s plans for maintaining the relevance of the TCM with future updates and revisions.
