ACEA Community Involvement Committee Seeks Donations of Material

​The Community Involvement Committee takes on one or two projects per year to assist a local non-profit by providing labor and/or materials for a project that will enhance their program or benefit those served. This year, the Committee is working with Safe In Austin, a judgment-free space for children and animals that come from abuse or have special needs.

The organization has a long list of projects and is asking for support. On October 25th, 4Ward Land Surveying and Gray Engineering, Inc. teamed up for a Volunteer Work Day at Safe In Austin. Volunteers worked hard to maintain the rescue ranch’s drainage barn, maintenance areas, and pathways.​

Steven Minor at Gray Engineering has been spearheading this project. ​The Community Involvement Committee seeks donations of funds and materials that will greatly enhance the chances of completing a few of Safe in Austin's most pressing projects. 

MATERIALS NEEDED 

• Fencing – 100’ of heavy gauge chicken wire 
• Fine Grade Material for Pads – 1.9 Cubic Yards 
• Cinder Blocks – approximately eight needed 
• Floor Joists and Decking Sheet Siding 
• Paint – 2 gallons; any color 
• Misc. Building Materials: roofing nails, siding nails, roofing paper nails, shingles, tar paper, flashing
•  Crushed Road Base 

EQUIPMENT NEEDED 

• Use of Front-end Loader
• Chainsaw 
• Rock Saw 
• Misc. Building Equipment: shovels, picks, hammers, etc.
