Monthly Luncheons Offer Community, Networking, and Fellowship

ACEA m​embers repeatedly share how much they appreciate the networking and fellowship at our monthly membership luncheons. The luncheons are a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, meet new members and guests, all while enjoying good food. Most luncheons include a guest speaker presentation, report from the Membership Committee, and a featured sponsor. The Committee shares updates on current projects, and the sponsor has an opportunity to introduce their company and services. 

March Luncheon Sponsored by Certified Arbor Care

​In March, Kevin Critendon, Assistant Director for Austin Water, shared updates and an overview of their Water Forward Reuse Strategies. Water Forward is Austin’s 100-year integrated water resource plan, adopted by Council November 2018. Water Forward identifies diverse and environmentally conscious water management strategies to adapt to growth, drought, and climate change. Andrew Jimenez at ATS Engineers, Inspectors & Surveyors, won the door prize sponsored by Certified Arbor Care.

April Luncheon Sponsored by Central Texas Stone & Aggregate

In April, Gary Hudder, City of Round Rock Director of Transportation, provided an overview on the department's various and recapped the ultimate roadway plan for the city. He explained the various design projects underway and fielded questions from the audience.
Also, Ricardo Romero, Work-Based Learning Specialist at Education Service Center Region 13, made an appeal for volunteer companies to help them identify skills gaps. Ricardo invited ACEA members to participate in an upcoming strategic planning meeting.
Xavier Alaniz at Statewide Materials Transport, LTD, was happy to receive the door prize provided by ​sponsor Central Texas Stone & Aggregate. Also, Jon Dacy with ADS, was on hand to accept the door prize provided by the ACEA Membership Committee for their quarterly Membership Recruitment drawing.

June Luncheon Sponsored by MCCar Materials

ACEA hosts our annual Symposium in May, so we do not have May luncheons. June is the the end of our fiscal year, so June luncheons celebrate the end of one term, and ushers in the new one.
During this luncheon, we do not have a guest speaker presentation. Instead, we review highlights throughout the year and also present scholarship awards to high school students and their parents.
Garrett Shepperd, outgoing board president, provided a recap of the association’s accomplishments over the past 12 months, and acknowledged volunteers and committee members for their contributions.
Special thanks to McCar Materials for continue to sponsor our annual June luncheon and once again provided a meaningful door prize.
