Christmas Gifts For Children Program
A Jolly Success!
The children’s faces lit up with joy as Santa arrived to deliver Christmas gifts to the Mainspring School on Tuesday, December 14! It was a wonderful sight to see all the goodness our ACEA members were able to spread with their donations! Thanks to the kindness of ACEA members, these were the only gifts many of the children received and they were so very happy!
Continuing with the yearly tradition, Santa (Frank DelCastillo), Community Involvement Committee Chair (Robert Allison), and volunteers Dustin Goss and employees of Haegelin Construction Company, traveled to the school to deliver gifts to sixty children. Priscilla Iden helped sort the many gifts at the ACEA office to prepare them for Santa’s delivery.
This program is truly an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life during the holiday season and the Mainspring School staff and children are so grateful. Anytime you would like to stop by, they would welcome your visit!
Located in south Austin, the school is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and provides quality affordable childhood education and care since 1941. A Four-Star Designated Vendor of the Worksource-Child Care Solutions “Texas Rising Star” program, the school is accredited through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, and recognized as an exemplary program by the Austin Child Care Council. A private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation, funding for the school is received by the United Way/Capital Area, City of Austin, Travis County, Texas Department of Human Services, the USDA Child Care Food Program, corporations and foundation contributions and grants, and individual donations.
A special thanks to our wonderful Santa, Frank DelCastillo (MWM DesignGroup, Inc.), Santa’s sleigh drivers (Haegelin Construction Company employees), Priscilla Iden (HVJ Associates, Inc.), and Dustin Goss (Pape-Dawson Engineers). We appreciate our wonderful volunteers!

Blue Santa Support
Operation Blue Santa sends a special thanks to ACEA members for their generous personal donations at the December’s Luncheon. The combined contributions added up to $300.
On hand to accept our donations was Margarine Beaman, a member of Blue Santa Board of Directors. Margarine spoke to the group about the families that are served throughout the season. She explained that Blue Santa serves more than 3,800 needy families, with 12,000 children in those families receiving gifts. Operation Blue Santa is a massive effort organized and run by the Austin Police Department in partnership with Texas National Guard, the Austin Fire Department, and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department.
Margarine surprised us by presenting a beautiful plaque to Mike, which says:
Greater Austin Contractors
And Engineers Association
~~~
In appreciation for your
Support to the families
And children of Austin.
