The ACEA BBQ Cook-Off!

MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND THE SECOND ANNUAL BBQ COOK-OFF ~ April 30 -May 1, 2010!

The smell of BBQ was in the air recently at our 2009 Cook-Off!  What an event!  The Board tasked the Community Involvement Committee, chaired by Robert Allison, with putting on a BBQ Cook-Off.  This event was not a fundraiser but an opportunity for members to network together.  The committee ‘aced it’!

 

Over 200 attendees enjoyed samples of BBQ cooked by 21 teams throughout Friday and Saturday. There was music, washers being thrown, card playing, lots of laughter, lots of eating, and of course lots of drinking going on, as only Texans can do.

 

Now the only serious business going on was the judging.  Thanks goes to all of the many impartial judges!  Late Saturday afternoon everyone gathered around to hear the results of who had the best BBQ.  The winners are listed below.  But just before the first place winner of the Brisket category was announced there was a bit of drama going on in the background. – Oops – A dumpster fire!  Who's BBQ'in in the dumpster? Thanks to those who quickly put it out.
